Green IT: Where the concern is not only environmental liability

By

Large companies are already adopting Green IT and recently did a panel on trends in the area of green IT in Las Vegas.

In regard Site Computer World, Pat Tiernan, vice president of HP says that "There is a return to shareholders to be won," and added "I honestly just see it as a consumer demand that we must answer now and we will continue to meet in the future. "

Representatives of large companies like Yahoo, Google, Intel and Sun also agreed with Tiernan.
These companies are already adopting many procedures to become a business "natureba" as changing the corporate infrastructure, using virtualization to reduce number of servers and heat emitting gases in the atmosphere in order to reduce energy consumption and cooling in data centers, use in recyclable packaging, etc..

But there is one but the companies are not adhering to a Green IT by social work or just to please society, beyond the environmental issue is also a reduction of costs involved throughout this process. Mark Monroe, Sun's director of computing, notes that "these 'eco-projects' are rarely done strictly because of merit."

Green IT will become a requirement for all companies over the years, will become a matter of marketing, where companies that do not accept the need to reduce pollutant emissions will have to answer for that decision to the shareholders, partners, and especially to consumers and the media.

Everything is about time!
